John Thompson is a police officer who started training Brazilian jiu-jitsu in 2011 to get in shape and be better prepared for use-of-force incidents on the street.
Now a black belt, John has found that BJJ does more than keep him fit. It is also a big help for his mental health and a great source of stress relief.
He uses his training every day in his work as an officer, and brings that real-world perspective to students at Brazil 021 Chicago.
